The LOGSAC reunion climb was a success as concluded last September 9, 2012. It was participated by 26 members (19 veterans and 7 first-timers). It was very delighting to see our newbies blending well with the pioneers, a patent of unity as always shown by LOGSAC all through the years.
And
as we get back to our respective real worlds, the handwriting was already very
visible on the wall despite the euphoria not ebbing yet. The climb drew several
reactions from the participants especially to the neophytes as they endured a
very strenuous struggle of evening rain showers and extremely cold temperature.
For the veteran mountaineers of LOGSAC, however, the climb was intensely
pleasant, as it was a sort of get-together for some club pioneers. Here are
some of the reactions as reflected in our imaginary wall moments after that
blockbuster expedition:
“Climbs like this one are
more fun. I enjoyed the company of this team plus the rain that wetted us made
it even exciting,” Hardy Joy Desuyo.
“I thought I could not
survive. Even in going to Tinikaran Campsite 1 my feet almost gave up. Good
thing I survived. It was really amazing and full of excitements,” Matet
Salise.
“Okay naman yung climb
except sa bad weather. Salamat at magkasama ulit yung LOGSAC group. Hopefully
may part 2 pero ibang bundok naman,” Danrev Broñola.
“I enjoyed the climb very
much. The experience is priceless. It was very tiring but I really enjoyed it,”
Jerry Pastor.
“Bahala’g kapoy basta
lingaw,” Irvin Joy Alcoriza.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to
be up there in Mt. Apo. I felt very tired. Climbing this mountain needs a lot
of energy and strength. The route is very challenging; the boulders, the 87
degrees and the summit. Thanks for everything,”
Rhonalie Capacio.

“Bisan hinubog ra tong atong
sabot nga mag reunion climb apan natuman gyud. Bisag sa kalisod nga maka apil
sa reunion tungod sa conflict sa trabaho ug gisagubang nga injury apan nahimo
gihapon ang pagsaka ug pag survive sa maka usa pa nga higayon. It’s nice to see
old buddies climbing together. To the newcomers, welcome to LOGSAC family. I
would like to thank the people who supported us spiritually, emotionally,
morally and financially. More power and God bless to all LOGSAC,”
John Jay Cuizon.
“During that climb I
appreciate more the company of LOGSAC. The respect and care for each other was
manifested in that climb,” Trecelyn Cabaluna.
“Bisan ug lain ang panahon
nahimong successful gihapon ang climb tungod sa effort sa tanang miyembro sa
LOGSAC,” Noel Bartolome.
“Grabe ka lingaw jud, it was
all worth it….lingaw ra jud ang akong gipangita adto nga climb, nalingaw ang
tanan tungod sa kusog nga ulan,” Jonas Florencodia.
“For us first-timers dili
LOGSAC group is very
concern, caring and supportive especially during sa time nga maglisod na ang
uban. I don’t know if I can still go back to Mt. Apo, maybe it will still take
a lot of years. Thank you so much to all, I am proud to be part of this
mountaineering group because I’ve learned a lot in the aspects of camaraderie,
self-confidence, self-discipline and in loving nature,”
Catherine Bulatiti.
“Very much successful
bahalag ulan. More power to us,” Henry Gapula.
“Lingaw ang climb and
breathtaking,” Kirvy Palanca.
Others may have been
speechless about the experience but I am pretty sure they also share the same
sentiments. As usual, there are persons who extended help to make the event
more colorful. Special mention to our sponsors: The Municipality of Sta. Cruz through
Mayor Joel Ray Lopez, TDEVS Services, Inc., Tinikaran Outdoor Shop through
Councilor Oliver Enot, White Peak Outdoor Equipment, Ma’am Luzviminda Zapanta,
Ms. Erna Vinkers of Let Us Care Foundation, City Government of Digos through
its Tourism Officer Sir Bebot Elera, Municipal Councilor Manolito Lagrada, Jr.,
